This transponder requires a subscription of 1, 2, or 5 years which needs to be renewed when the subscription expires. As with the classic transponder, the TR2 is a rechargeable transponder that can be moved between vehicles. The X2 transponder is permanently installed on the vehicle, powered directly by the battery. Drivers need to have activated the TR2 or X2 transponder and subscription prior to the event.

Hey Mongo, are the charging bays all wired together in that fancy case y'all got? JeffroJ , May 5, One power input and then 32 or 36 bays depending on the case.
One thought: While the red blinking lights are very easy to see, the green ones, indicating days of charge remaining, are very hard to see. Try looking at it under very low light like i a closet or something to be sure it isn't taking a charge. Is there a reason more people don't buy the direct powered unit or maybe they do and I just screwed up?
WERA compatible? As far as I can tell from a quick search they're the same price or cheaper. Only Con I can think of is not as easily moved from bike to bike if you run more than one? Last time I posted about my dead Transponder I had at least one person offer to buy it as is.
Then no more battery issues. Con's - not movable. That's about it really. That and if you lose power to it you're screwed. The seller had ripped him off because without a valid subscription the FLEX transponder is worthless.
So beware. Mounting transponder on kartImportant that the transponder is mounted vertically because the signal is directional and fires out of the bottom so this needs to face the track. Ideally no metal should be between the transponder and the track. Ideally mount the transponder using the special mounting bracket and for extra security add an electrical tie or Velcro strap.
If it comes off in a race it can be dangerous to others and get badly damaged. Cheers and good luck racing! See hereRacers often ask me if rechargeable or DP is better and really it comes down to personal preference. The DP does not require charging but if for some reason the external power to it fails your laps will not be counted.
It is also not convenient to move between karts if required. The rechargeable has internal power so no chance of it stopping due to external power failure and is very easy to move between karts. David Arnold said. The battery of a TranX should last at least 5 years and it depends on how well you treat it. The type of battery in them last longer if used regularly and will die prematurely if left for long periods without being charged.
