What is the difference between association and season in nba 2k13

I'm all right for a few down seasons and a few teams overachieving but I dislike a Thunder team of Rondo, Westbrook, Durant, Ibaka, and Al Jefferson missing the playoffs. They should be a 4 seed or above. Also I play 29 game seasons, and not every team should be or The sim engine isn't terrible but there are faults. Potential 2K roster makers need to understand their potential rating better.

The league shouldnt be all 80s in 5 years. It goes like this Morale and Chemistry Here's another thing roster makers should do So if those players don't get enough playing time or aren't making the playoffs then they can get up to -8 in their overall, hurting their team's chemistry.

Non expressive players shouldn't complain much unless they're an expressive player in real life. They should really only get -2 to their overall and hurt their teams chemistry a little. This makes it more realistic, but still can scare you when signing a troublemaker.

Get rid of stat bugs Teams playing 82 games when's it a 29 game season. One team leading the league in every statistic by 10, when they really aren't. This stuffs really annoying. I should be able to offer an up and coming assistant to be my head coach thibodeau or hire a free agent head coach. We should also be able to edit free agent coaches. This way we can make Phil Jackson, Calipari, and others. It should go to a player with a great statistical season and who's team had a great record.

Those would be my six improvements for now as I'm a 30 team controller. Still it's a great association mode. SoAwesome , ffaacc03 , MarvellousOne and 1 others like this. But trust me it hurts. I am a big fan of scouting and talent evaluations, yet it seems overlooked by 2K and the users. Playable training camp to start the Association Give us the ability to form a twenty man roster consisting of undrafted rookies, free agents, and our contract players.

The objective would be to run drills for conditioning and skill set improvement, also to familiarize players with the offense and defense. Later we would cut players who aren't fits based on practices, pre-season and so forth.

During the season have meaningful practices Practices should be about going the last game and preparing for next opponent. I don't remember my roster exactly throughout the years, but it changed very little and I can give the jist of it. Let me know what you think. Anybody else doing interesting things in association mode to keep things fresh? Sent from my GT-P using Tapatalk 2.

Allstar25 and BoxyCougar like this. Or you can pick one association, stick with it and enjoy it. I don't get how you guys get tired and quit associations. CaseIH and Melbournelad like this. It's been refreshing to play with some of the legends, and I shrunk the season down to 29 games so that I can play the majority of the games while not feeling like it's taking me forever to get through a season. At the same time, I also run an association where I control all 30 teams, and I just downloaded one of the rosters that somebody on this forum put a lot of work into, use vtcrb and CWSapp's draft classes, and added the custom arena sounds that someone else here had put together.

The custom arena sounds and new player tendencies and stuff from the roster I'm using have really refreshed things for me a bit. BB code is On. Smilies are On. Trackbacks are Off. Pingbacks are Off. My Player In previous years, My Player was the name of the single-player career mode where you created a rookie player and tried to turn him into an NBA all-star. This year, My Player refers specifically to the player creation and customization.

No matter what game mode you play in NBA 2K13, you earn Virtual Currency that allows you to purchase new apparel and skills for your created player. This year the apparel extends beyond what you wear on the court for practice or on the blacktop. If you want to dress up for press conferences, you can save up for suits or luxury clothes. The team shop has real-life hats, shorts, t-shirts, and jerseys for you to choose from, and Visual Concepts plans to add more apparel as the season moves on.

Some of the clothing items simply offer cosmetic changes, but others may give you stat boosts to make you a better player. Players can also use Virtual Currency, or VC, to purchase new skills. The specific packages available are smaller this year so you can evolve your skills more quickly throughout your career instead of saving up to buy one huge package. You can also purchase signature skills.

Between individual drills and VC, you will have more currency than ever before to customize the way your players acts on the court. Some are individual rituals, while others will involve your teammates as well. Realism is really a common quality throughout various aspects of the gameplay and focus.

In instances where players are caught in a switch, it is easier to take advantage of mismatches. The speed difference between point guards and bigs is distinct enough for the little man to beat the big to the hoop, in most instances. There are big men with extraordinary lateral movement like Dwight Howard , Joakim Noah and Anderson Varejao, who can keep from being embarrassed in pick-and-roll defense. Yet they are the merely exceptions.

Again, this is a hint of authenticity, and true basketball fans will appreciate these aspects of the game. There are certainly moments of flair. The alley-oop plays have a new dimension. You can throw these passes to yourself this year. If you want to toss one off the glass and slam it through, it can be done in the right situation. I wouldn't advise trying it from the free-throw line in a half-court set—that probably won't work out too well. If you're looking to go Lob City with a teammate, you'll have more options this year.

If there are players on both the left and right of you, you can choose who the lob pass is going to with the right stick. This is just one aspect of the new-found control in the passing game.

Gamers can also choose when to throw a bounce pass, and with the sharp physics engine this choice can be the difference between a turnover and a dunk. The gameplay enhancements aren't solely related to what you do with the controller. The A. Players run more crisp plays; they play more decisively and more true to their real-life tendencies. For example, Danny Granger and Michael Beasley never met a shot they didn't like. The guns on each team will take much quicker shots than other players.

In the fourth quarter, the stars will get the ball, and they will attempt to carry their teams. The CPU plays at a faster tempo. Until now, I had never played a basketball video game that forced me to sprint back on defense. That is awesome.

This is clearly the best gameplay ever in a basketball video game. For years, 2K Sports has been the master of presentation in sports video games. This year, the presentation goes more Hollywood, or should I say Brooklyn. It starts from the intro when you pop in the disc.

Check out the Shawn Carter-infused welcome for gamers:. It's not as if all of the songs feature Jay-Z, though quite a few do. The videos to the songs are incorporated during pregame hype videos. If you don't like Jay-Z or the other featured artists, you can turn off the music. It might leave things a little bland, though. The music is really a soundtrack to everything you do in the game. From a pure basketball sound and presentation standpoint, this games has its ups and one down.

However, there are more instances where great plays deserve more hoopla, yet they are ignored or understated. The opposite end of the spectrum occurs at times as well, as some basic dunks send the commentators into an inappropriate frenzy. That is really a shame considering NBA 2K12 was so good in this area. The bar is just set so high, and that dynamic has set up a slight fall-off. Even with that decline, the commentary is still better than most sports video games available.

The in-game visual presentation is done very well. I love the variety of broadcast camera angles. Every arena has its own unique default view, and it accurately emulates the camera placement for each building.

The replays are great, and the in-game footage shown while looking at the game stats is a nice touch. One personal gripe I have is the inability to remove the orange circle from beneath players' feet in replays.

It handicaps montage-makers, but 99 percent of gamers won't care about that. This is an isolated issue that only affects us YouTubers. Alternate uniform options have been expanded.
